5.0 LT TPI Motor
« on: December 07, 2017, 12:10:53 AM »
Did they ever produce a 5.0 LT TPI motor?  I have a 1990 Trans Am 5spd with what appears to be a LT1. But the side badge says 5.0. Also it has rear drum breaks. Shouldnít it have discs in the rear? Iím sure Iíll have lots more questions to come about this car. So far I have 3 in the family and this is my first fuel injected one.

5.0 TPI and 5.7 TPI ended in Ď92 and LT1 started in Ď93 (for f-bodies, 92 in Corvette). As for the brakes, I believe you could have rear drums on a Trans Am all the way up through 92. The WS6 suspension package usually added them.
